OVERVIEW

This course aims at offering an overview of the economic growth and development from the Modern Age to the 21st century in a comparative perspective by focusing on the strategic factors responsible for modern growth.

The course provides a systematic-interpretative framework of the most important changes that have characterized the evolution of the structure of the global economic system starting from the Industrial Revolution.

-Population patterns

-The Industrial Revolution

- Development patterns:  the Second Comers.

- From the first globalization to the second World War

-The modern economic development from 1945 to 1979

- The second globalization and its crises
