The final exam consists in the discussion of a written paper, aimed at ascertaining the technical, scientific and professional preparation of the candidate. The thesis can also be carried out in a group, under the supervision of at least one supervisor. The commitment required to the student for the preparation of the final examination must be commensurate with the number of credits assigned to the test itself.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
For the purposes of obtaining the degree, the final paper consists of a written report on a specific activity (an practical or numerical or compilative report on topics related to the courses of the Study Program) carried out by the student in order to acquire useful knowledge for inclusion in the world of work and for the possible continuation of studies.
The modalities of the final exam consist in the oral presentation of the thesis to the degree panel, followed by a discussion on the questions eventually posed by the members of the panel.
The dissertation will have to reveal:
- appropriate basic preparation;
- basic design skills;
- autonomy and / or ability to work in groups
- learning, systematic and argumentative skills;
- public speaking ability and ability of to sum up;
- correct use of sources and bibliography;
Among the aspects that contribute to the definition of the mark assigned to the final exam, the degree panel will have to take particular account of:
- quality of the thesis;
- presentation of the thesis topics and results;
- any period spent abroad for the preparation of the thesis or a substantial part thereof;
- duration of the candidate's studies.
Among the thesis supervisors, at least one teacher belonging to the Department DICCA or to the Polytechnic School must be present.
The thesis can also be written in English; in this case the candidate may be asked, by the Consiglio di Corso di Studio through the supervisor, to prepare an abstract in Italian.
If you use another language of the EU you need the authorization of the Consiglio di Corso di Studio, the translation of the title and an extended abstract in Italian.
