METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF INTERVIEW AND QUESTIONNAIRE
OVERVIEW
This lab is aimed to provide basic and expert information to plan, built, administering and analysis of interviews and questionnaires.
AIMS AND CONTENT
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Specificly, more attention will be paid to types and structures of such methods in psychological and social research.
Main features, advantages and limits will be analyzed both for questionnaires and interviews.
Starting from theoretical and episthemologic premises, the lab will provide a practical approach to built, administer and analyze dicìverse type of questions, their sequence, and most diffuse distorsions.
AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
Learning of the theoretical and practical aspects related to the construction of questionnaires:
types and application areas, preparing conceptual schema, \ "wording", closed questions and open-ended questions, response, cover letter types and sizes.
Theoretical and practical aspects relating to the conduct of the interviews: design and construction of the interview, the interviewer/interviewee relationship, communication in the interview
Teaching methods
Active learning: alternate theory and practice exercises;
individual and group homework.
Final homework will consist in the production of an interview/questionnaire guide.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT
Contents: Interviews and questionnaires, their epistemological debate and methodological implications in social and psychological research;
Interviews: objectives, structures, relation between interviews and interviewer, types and examples, construction and administration, biases and solutions (small groups work and debriefing);
Questionnaires: structures, "free" or "close" answers, construction and administration, biases and solutions (small groups work and debriefing);
Mixed methods strategies and qual/quant integration;
Other tools: group interviews and focus group, online questionnaires, video-interviews; cognitive and investigative interviews;
Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis;
Field of applications.
