OVERVIEW

It is an 8 CFU physical chemistry course for second-year students of the degree in one cycle of the CTF.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

It is a basic course which is held in the first half of Year 2, in which describes the basics of thermodynamics, chemistry, Equilibrium Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics and Theoretical Chemistry in order to make the student acquire a critical understanding of the principles and application of Physical Chemistry of chemical interest in systems, biological, pharmaceutical.

The main topics are:

-) Of theoretical chemistry outline with particular regard to the construction of the MO from LCAO (for CTF only);

-) Chemical thermodynamics (CTF and Biotechnology)

-) Molecular spectroscopy (IR and Raman, UV, Vis. Fluorescence and phosphorescence) (CTF and Biotechnology)

-) Chemical kinetics (CTF and Biotechnology)

-) Binary mixtures; homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous, enzymatic; hints of ternary mixtures (CTF and Biotechnology)
